Today. I found that if you need a longer throttle cable for a 64 Dodge, A slant six cable works very well---HOWEVER, don't use any heat on t he inner cable when changing to a cable end that will work. It will take the stiffness out of the cable and allow it to bend easily. You know how I found that out!
If you mount the battery in the trunk, and run the ground cable to the rear subframe, you will have a ground up in the engine bay. BUT, not enough ground to make the starter motor turn the engine . By running another ground cable from the front sub-frame to the engine or tranny, That will make her spin! You know how I found that out, after charging the battery, adding jumper cables, and worrying that the starter was bad.:BangHead:..............................MO

Well thanks for the tip. I will definitely keep that in mind.

Learning is good. Those who never screw something up have never done anything.

Today, after getting my throttle linkage fixed up, and wireing a push button for the starter and using a toggle switch for the ignition--- I can start my 64 Dodge up, from the drivers seat. It can actually be driven. Tomorrow I will sneak it out on the rural road and see how well everything works. My paint man is about ready to get it into his shop for final body prep and paint. Things are rapidly comeing together now. After paint the interior is next. Time + money= be quite a while before its done. ................................MO
