I have a 65 Coronet that I'm having the heater core recored , what I need to know is there an O ring used where the hearted control pipe goes into the side of the core ? Where can I find one if needed ?

I have an AC car(s) so your mileage may vary, but:
there are two O-rings at the h-valve and heater core outlet. These seal the twin pipes that press on and go between heater core and firewall. The core-side (smaller diameter) pipes have a recess for them. The old rings may need to be snagged out with a hook tool. Any proper-sized nitrile O-ring will do nicely. Many folks use the pretty green ones from an AC ring kit. Horror Freight "O-rings" will likely fail within a few hours of installation. Please do not ask how I know this to be gospel truth.
