Received my hood scoop for my 67 Coronet from Sled City (real nice piece!). Can't decide if I should paint it satin black or try and match my 10 year old silver paint on my car?? Or decide if I should cut a hole in my steel hood for air breather or don't cut a hole and just mount scoop to steel hood with no hole??
Thoughts and pics or your setup would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Painted black will look like something just stuck on the hood. A paint shop should be able to match pretty close. Also I wonder if you mount the scoop, with nowhere for the air to get out, it might fatigue the fiberglass. Or am I over thinking that?

I bought this car with the scoop. I just got finished with cleaning and painting the engine compartment. It had the scoop on it but it is a plastic material and it was red plastic. It didn't really match the paint and I was tired of looking at it so I had a can of satin and shot it.

The holes help to let the air go through.

It will give you some idea of what yours may look like
