S/S SPRINGS

Ok I have my dumb hat on. If you use two rights not good for track but ok for street. So to have good ss springs for the street you need a 3800 on one and 3200 on the other (example only) just trying to figure it all out. My car suppose to have as springs on it but it sets level and I'm not finding any type of id on them.

The right side in a set (456 / 457 as an example) has 2 extra half leafs so the right sits higher. If you want to keep it level, order two of the left side springs. Personally I like the canted stance plus it is designed to work that way.

You can order 2 lefts or 2 rights to keep it level. The 2 rights will give you a little more height in the back than the 2 lefts

Cool the lift in the rear is what most guys are looking at anyways.does any kind of wheel hop happen. I need the *** to plant hard

I sometimes wonder why people assume that their car will sit crooked if they use superstock springs as intended. it is the arch, not the number of leaves that determines height. Factory trac pac and super trac pac cars[ hemi,sixpack,440 4sp] all had more leaves on the right side. did they all sit crooked?

Mine sits perfect with SS springs.

Ok guys and girls I have 6 leads on both sides on the rear. I can't find any markings so either I don't have ss springs or they are both either right or left. Can anybody tell where to look for numbers

Seen them stamp on bottom of leaf segments . Your 65 measures 21" front eye to spring location pin. S/S springs it's 20".

If Fran’s right with measurements you need the extended frt.hangers like I put on yrs ago. Do you have them? Otherwise you might have XHD springs?

I believe so and it is bolted into the bottom hole will ddl check measurements.thank you for the help

Anybody heard from moparstyle lately

They make the front spring hangers for S/S springs 1" and 2" longer. Believe 65 you need 1" longer.

Who woulda thunk. Thought the hangers were all 2” longer. Now I’m wondering about needing the reinforcement plates that Mancini shows to stiffen up the sheet metal for the extended hangers? 30+yrs on mine.

Ok just got some measurements on my rear springs. Both of the are center axle to front pin is 20 inches and from center axle to rear mount is 36.5 inches now the front hanger is 4 3/8 top hole bottom hole is 4 1/4. This is from front of mount to center hole in the hanger

Shouldn't the rear hangers be straight up. Mine are in the 8 o'clock position. I don't think that is going to be good. Also left spring has shim in between each spring and looks as if they are riveted in.

can I ask how wide are your rims I have the thrust style 5 inch wide in front and 15.8 rear with 4.5 offset.
Rears are 8.5” with 4.5” backspace, fronts are 7”, don’t remember what the offset is on the fronts. I’m thinking 3” or 3.5”.

Thank you, do you run power steering. Or a quick ratio box just trying to get my ducks lined up. Hate doing things over and over.

Power steering box rebuilt by Steer and Gear, set up to give more feel. Saginaw pump. I really like this set up, feels more like a modern rack and pinion steering.

Big block with headers and stock front suspension. I'm really looking at the tube front end and rac and pinion. But at the same time the k frame cut out looks great and gives the stock look.
