that murphy......needs a kick in the a$$.....My son and I just finished a engine swap/car flip project and I looked at the title and the last owner put the wrong mileage on the title. Well called them and let them know so now we wait till this gets straitened out. One of these days alice, one of these daysss....bang zoom!!!!!

That sucks,my buddy son bought a car and it had the guys mothers name on the title.I asked him if he even looked at the title. Nope, He got it straighten out but he will never do that again.

Here, they want to charge according to value guides, but when I had my Midget title changed, they said it would be N/A instead of the 28,000 miles that was actual. They want the money, but don't have the smarts to see mileage can affect the sale price greatly. Well... maybe cars other than Midgets.

Who's going to come look at the speedo? I didn't think cars over 25 years old mattered...
NJMVC that's who will look at the mileage...its an 07....I should have looked when we got it....

Is it that big a deal to correct there? In CA you just have to fill out and submit a corrected title change form..

Guys,
Verify the title carefully prior to the money changing hands.

I had a simple mistype that cost me. The previous owner received a title with a missing letter character. (9 numbers and letters vs. 10 that it was supposed to be) Finally got it sorted out but only after verification by a previous owner notarized affidavit, a state title search, and 3 officers review.

if my mileage on a 45 year old car is under 100K, I want the actual mileage on the title!

Jersey is a bit of a stickler when it comes to titles, ive seen them reject one because someone scratched out something. This will get fixed it just may take a little work. Im lucky I know the previous owner somewhat. Ill update as it happens.
