As I'm being tracked on the web...cookies, when I open google there are a dozen or more articles that pop up. Assume from my web patterns on topics I hit on. I read car stuff a lot so I get a bunch of car topics. It's irritating to see the number of columns published about old cars written by people who obviously don't know squat about them. How these guys make it to publishing, and likely get some cash for it, is beyond me. I get the impression they might do some mild research and type up a story lengthy enough to get printed. Among them are "Ten best muscle cars" or on the other end of the spectrum, "Ten worst....". Well if the author has been around long enough, owned some, knows how to turn a wrench, or restored them, it's worth taking in their story. Often after reading their first paragraph I get an idea if the writer ever got dirt beneath his nails or not.

I was reading an article about automotive aerodynamics and the author, who was supposedly knowledgeable about the subject had a picture of a Superbird with some snarky comments. Well, a guy (an author who's name escapes me) who had researched Daytonas and Superbirds extensively, talking to the people who designed them and such, wrote an article putting this guy in his place. I'm sure it's still around. His big gripe is people not believing, even after he told them that the engineers who designed the car told him that the wing was designed as it was installed and NOT revised so that the trunk would open.
Yes, I agree, those articles by the ignorant are very unsatisfying.
