Feel free to share Helicopter videos or stories you might have. :)

The Hueys from the Nam Era had a distinctive sound of their own.

I used to work for an hvac contractor, who used Midwest, for setting roof top units. I got to know the crew. This is the back of a t shirt they gave me. Thought the saying was, cool. :)

We’ll never know the bravery of those chopper crews.

Back in the late 80s early 90s I was apart of recovery of downed aircraft. We used a AStar w/nets for removing debris . It was a trip in its self just going up high near the peaks to recover.

I've had many, many rides in Huey's. I had a love/hate relationship with them.
Hated to see them come in to pick us up for an insertion.
Loved to see them come in to pick us up for an extraction.
Loved to see the gunships arrive.
And Dustoff was a Godsend.

With 10000 flying hours in fixed wing jet transports, I am not much of a fan of rotary winged aircraft. They defy the laws of Physics. And yes I have flown in them also...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Many fixed wing craft are proof with enough propulsion anything can fly.
Hueys...cute little helos.

My younger son and I on a joy ride over Waiuku, Auckland, here in New Zealand - 5 years ago. A Bell (not sure exact model) dressed up as a M*A*S*H* style chopper. Not bad price - $115 for both of us - approx 10 minutes. It was my second helicopter ride. The first was for work back in 1999 or so. I'll try and find some pictures of that.

You can see my Red Wagon and GTX not long after take-off (36 sec mark) - we had a display at my buddy Cliff's workshop.

The 1st video was pretty cool. Never saw that vantage point before. Was a Huey, Blackhawk, and Chinook mechanic and TI while in the Army and Guard. We had a maintenance test pilot who's QC control measure was you fixed it, you are flying in it with me. Huey and Chinook were mechanic's aircraft. Blackhawk you are a part's swapper.

My first Helo ride in the Army was in in a Huey.
Mostly flew on Blackhawks
I hated flying on the Chinooks (Flying Dumpster)

My Brother is a Retired CW4 and flew a lot of different birds
Trained on a Huey
Flew Cobras and Little Bird
then the last years was in an Apache.

He really loved the power and ruggedness of that Helo

I loved hanging my legs out in a Blackhawk, flying map of the Earth, was friggin awesome. Did a lot of that in Air Assault.

I have many, many hours in Hueys, Cobras, Chinooks, Kiowas, and Cayuse (little Bird). I managed to stay away from the lawn darts (blackhawks). VFR, IFR, NVG, NOE....the list goes on..I loved every minute !

That's how I always rode, last one in and first one out. As a guy who's afraid of heights and cringe at getting near the edge of a 2 story roof, it still boggles my mind. I guess you can get used to anything.

I totally hear what you’re saying.
