Eddie van Halen won't be jumping down for breakfast today

Eddie had a style all his own. I was lying in bed after my tonsils were removed when my local rock station played their entire first album.

My daughter used to hop up and down to the tune of Jump when she was a toddler.

I sincerely hope he's not running with the devil.

Rock in peace.

Man, throat cancer is another rough way to go and hope he's not running with the devil too!

Just got home from a bitch of a day to find out EVH passed. Not good!
Just no more words.. one of my favorites to listen to and play!

Rest in Peace!

My absolute favorite axe man whom I still try to emulate without much success. I will go on record saying I think he was the greatest guitarist ever. My prayer is that Eddie's soul is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

And WROTE some of the greatest rock and roll in history

Truly

Truly

A great MUSICIAN

God Bless The King Of The Six String

great music of my youth

RIP Eddie, you will be missed

What a loss, loved many of his songs especially with David Lee Roth as the singer. RIP

What if EVH played solo in Stairway to Heaven? Video posted yesterday:

The EVH part starts at 6:47; or watch the whole video. It's interesting.

I saw that vid. pretty cool take on that solo by all 3! Phil X does a great job with Eddie, he’s not, but he’ll be the first to tell ya..

EVH is the king and inspired generations!
Here’s Phil X again.. a tough one!

I remember like it was yesterday - 1978 - going across the street to my friend's house and listening to their debut album. Blew me away. I still say there isn't a bad song on it. And I still can't believe I never saw them in concert back when I was going to concerts every month. I think they just must not have been around our area much back then, because I would have gone if I'd had the chance.
R.I.P. to an extremely talented great.

Eddie Van Halen was one of those rare and few guitarists that actually "raised the bar" for guitarists.
Not since Hendrix had the bar truly been raised.
Sad sad day......
RIP EVH

Loudest concert I ever went to, Van Halen II tour. The entire back drop of the band was a wall of speakers from side to side of stage, and about 10' tall. During one song, somebody threw a joint onstage and David Lee Roth stopped the song, and he and Eddie smoked the joint and chugged whiskey from a couple bottles they had onstage. Finished the song after they finished the joint.

What a loss for sure. 2020 has been one shitty year. Neil Peart now this.

I spoke in another topic about BMX riding back in the day. I remember the only 2 cassettes I had were Quiet Riot and Van Halen 1984 I played Van Halen and know every song word for word. I was a David Lee Roth Era Van Halen fan not so much Hagar. But over the years I grew to dig that aspect too. What an awesome band and an awesome career he had but 65 is too young. He seemed very happy in that interview 5 years ago and seemed to be doing great. So I will close saying this.. Van Halen was my best friend while riding my bike back then I could take them anywhere with me and listen to Eruption any time.. It was my BMX soundtrack. Thanks to Van Halen for the great music. You will be missed.
