gentlemen......where might i find a paint code on my 68 road runner if the data plate is missing?? and I might add that it has repainted before so there are no door decals left .....

Otherwise doing research with your vin number might be helpful?

Buildsheet if you have any
build sheet is doubtful....I've never noticed one there. the vin though, how is that an option?
I do have that of course but was unaware of that being an option....Thank you. paint chips I'm going to try and get tomorrow. its either avacado or mist green.

I was just wondering if a code might be stamped some place

What i meant is you can search the web for the vin. Maybe you find out something...
Or maybe you find somebody (here on FBBO for example) that has further information on your car...

Maybe print out the paint color sheets on paper, then hold it next to a spot on the car where the original paint remains. Under the speaker deck/package tray, inside the trunk, underside of the hood, under the carpet etc.

Not sure how well your car has been painted in the past, but you could try removing something on the fire wall. It may have the original color under it, or trunk latch, sills, something like that. Then you can cross reference paint chips for 68 Plymouth to match it up.

Snap, we must have been typing at the same time. :)

Lotsa original paint on the rear package tray area too if it hasn't been resprayed very well in that area. My 68 is completely covered up there in original E1 color.

There is always somewhere on the car that is original color. Nobody is that good!

Most 'average' car painters are too lazy to pull the windshield out.

found it! "F" as it it turns out. not thee avacado like I had hoped, but it will be good.
thanks guys...

If someone has a old Chrysler part manual book for 68 model year Mopar’s you might can narrow down all colors that came that year for roadrunners finding exactly what the bottom layer paint name plus color code is possibly.

Just saw you found it! Excuse me just trying to help with what little I know.

Man, first time I pulled a front windshield out of a vehicle I cracked it by a amateur mistake of being to ruff with impatience, been scared ever since with anything. And all the while with my first frame off I rush the interior put the interior in my truck and I have to mask it off and cover it up each time I sand... mhmm.. I learned a lot this time around haha.
