67 GTX REAR TIRE SIZE

I run BFG 275/60/15 on 7.5" wide stock steel wheels (mid-late 70's van maybe ? Got them at junkyard) on '67 GTX. No issues. Sits up pretty good in back, though.

Maybe the 7" wheels allow a 275...
I had my car on a rotisserie and spent many nights playing with some wheels people let me use, trying out different sizes and measuring with straight edges and measuring devices
The only conclusion I came up with is there is NO room in a 66-67 rear qtr for much of a wheel/tire combination....
For all the time and money I spent for

8" wheels on the back, maybe 7 inch wheels all the way around would be much simpler.....With the backspace I had to use ( 5 1/4") the rear wheels do not look any wider or larger than the fronts..

You are right, it requires a very precise set of widths, back spacing, and tire sizing to make any bigger tire fit these cars.
