Hello
Just finishing up my 66 charger . I have 15x7 wheels for the front and 15x8 4 1/2 back space in the rear . I need to order some radial tires for non show days . Any suggestion on tire sizes would be helpful Thanks

275-60's are usually a good fit for the 8's and something a bit more narrow for the 7's.....

With the slightest massaging you can get a 32x14 on

A buddy and I ran a 32-14 on a 10" rim and once the car was over 100 mph, the tires grew and the mph picked up while the rpm didn't lol. That car was murder for a lot of others that were trying to bracket race against it. Ran down lots of competitors on the top end that had a great launch but were tapped out just before the 1000 ft mark.

Recently made a switch myself. Magnum 500s here. 7’s all around. 235s and 255s.

Those are great pictures. The one from the back is perfect. Beautiful car. Do you have 70s on the front?

Yes. I should have been more clear. The 235-70 and 255-60s are nearly the same diameter

I was curious, that's what I have on mine, they're perfect IMO.

What’s better these steel or Aluminum? Also I remember back the 70’s these rims made a Creeking metal sound? A friend had them on his 70 Duster. I did hear that same click on these same rims on other cars back then? Anyone else ever pay attention and heard any strange noise from these steel Rims? Also how good is the Chrome since they are made 5miles from me here in California City of Industry and knowing they’re are forcing the Closure of Chrome Businesses here in California is the Chrome any good? I mean I talked to the last chrome shop in Azusa now Close he said the EPA would show up and test soil observe tanks etc… Makes me wonder on the Quality of chrome?

I cannot answer any of your questions other than the wheels do not make any abnormal noise like you described.

I'm pleased with my wheels and the paint and chrome finish seem fine, but they are not that old.

Finally, I would guess that machined aluminum wheel would spin more true than a steel wheel.

Thanks

HH1 - Dark Copper Metallic. It is the original paint
Nice looking car with the 7” Magnums? I might consider those for the originality! I have the Torque Thrust but something said for the Magnums! Also the color on your Charger is Beautiful!

Yes, 7”.
