This has happened more then once. If your selling only and not being a member I think the forum should band you for a month if more then 1 member complains. Its not fair for us wanting and waiting to buy your part and your to lazy to tell us its sold. Really you cant take two minute to at least MARK SOLD on your thread?

Then there are "Buyers" that tell you they want it, gotta have it, can't live without it, and you go thru all the emails with shipping info, payment info, and then the buyer never follows through.
Then what do you do with that issue?
That's been happening a lot, with me lately, on the web sites, and local Craigslist.
Guess ya just gotta suck it up, and deal with the deadbeats, that are on the other end of the internet keyboard.

I just ad them to my ignore list since I will never want to deal with them ever again buying or selling.

hemi71x,Couldn't agree with you more. More than once has potential buyers left me hanging. That's the way it goes when you got stuff you want to let go.. You want to be nice and wait, but when you have buyer #2 and #3 on the waiting list you just gotta decide.

Agreed ….

On purchases there should be
A deposit .

Buyer says “ that’s just what I Need “ , asks if I can deliver …
Says he can ship too ….

Then cold…
You contact him & he says he’s got something else .

Even asks
Everyone for their opinion !

Understood…Their True Identity is now on display….

They Were not buyers in the first place….

Bottom Line Should be be upfront & don’t be disingenuous
In you’re dealings…

AND

I Just Found Out About A thing called “ metadata”….I believe the techies call it.

Supposed to be included in pics
Taken with smart phones …
Techies say the physical locale
Of the item can be decoded …?

Really ???

Should a collector of “ stuff” be concerned with inquiries requesting numerous pics of
“Stuff” ….. then no further response?

maybe….
Because the inquiring person or persons just wanted to know
Where the “ stuff “ was for “future pick up”…..???
When you’re not home…..

Any Techies Know about this
“Metadata “ & can Advise ?

Appreciate The Input !

The metadata you refer to is easily viewed if you use a program such as Irfanview for your images.
(example from my camera) Metadata is basically hidden information about your image and yes, it can include GPS info.

However, it is only in the original, so if you just do a quick screen grab of your picture (which probably needs resizing anyway) then the original data is lost.
Or you can manually edit out the metadata if you prefer. This is a Windows 10 example: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-... 1,value field next to the property. See More.

That’s Very Interesting!!!

Sincerely Appreciate The information.

That is just sales. Most sellers are not professional sales people and most buyers are not professional...anything LOL. Therefore we have a large cross-section of people that are very frustrating to deal with. My tactic is to pass on the transaction due to what I term as a "poor fit" between the two parties.

That and people are generally self-centered, poor communicating, borderline illiterates that have no respect for another human being's time or perspective. This is more often seen from the sellers point of view than the buyers in my experience.

Then there are the people that want five different shipping quotes within the same zip code to save like $6. They seem confused when I tell them the item is no longer available after the 2nd quote.

Overall I think this is why you see people post up multiple parts and then fall off for a while. It wears on you after a while, especially if you have a day job and deal with retired folk (nothing personal to you all) that have no understanding around the fact that you are selling parts after hours. I'll admit it's tough to keep both sides of the deal in perspective at times.

and then there is the guy who pretends to not get your Private Message simply because it might be just a little bit harder to send the item overseas.....and after asking if he got the message, announces it was sold to someone else who got in first.

That guy is on my permanent ignore list.....another one who really is one of those 'Join to sell' guys.

I guess it’s just the part of selling. I have about 20 guys that have sent me all their info cause they just had to have the part. Then nothing. This is after they have already agreed to the price of the part and the shipping. I get lots that don’t pay the pay pal fee also. So I just refund their payment. Kim

Yep ,I work and people ask for shipping quotes and then I run around and then nothing. I just cant win. Sad thing it was a main member that asked for the quote and Ive bought from him. Never responded back to me.

I sold some stuff to a member on Fabo. 2nd time I sent him parts he asked for my pay pal. I said u should have from the last translation. He couldn’t find it. I knew he wouldn’t cause he never paid me the first time. I gave him my p/p and he paid for only the 2nd item. Very well respected member. So anyone can rip u off. I figured I could afford to loose what he didn’t pay me. Kim
