Block strength

We found the limit on the tune up in hot weather. Piston #2 as well. First time its melted and hurt one in years. 360, non intercooled, 9.5-1, E 85, 22 degrees, 22psi. The rest of the engine is perfect. Went 140mph on this pass

Are you running Nitrous. Last time I saw that is when we where trying to run the Nitrous combo and all we had was button and a squiter. Held the button too long and burned the pistion. Or should I say mealted it down.

Man it really got hot. Do you think you where too lean on that hole. When pulling down my 383 noticed that one piston hole had a lot more heat in that area. looking at the motor left bank number four.

#1 is usually the one we keep an eye on. We were leaning on it pretty good in the heat trying to run 10.0 shootout with a broken converter. This run it ran [email protected]. Pump E85 could've been suspect as well. Its been together a long time with no issues. The other 7 pistons are fine.

Are you guys testing the E85 every time?

Everytie we've tested in the Summer it's been good. So the answer is no. Lazy. we should've tested before leaning on it. I suggested this batch be tested.
