Lookie what $5000 buys you....

I have a "door dolly" ....... makes my life easy..... I've installed many freshly painted doors all by myself.....I use the crap out of it, it's like having a boy :D
I'll bet I can make something like that.
I absolutely LOVE fabricating things. I'm not great at it but I like it. (Like sex)

Get some casters, some 2 x 2 x .090 wall box tubing, a few rubber strips and some bolts...I could do this for under $100.
Heck....I could probably convert one of my spare engine stands.
I've mounted painted doors using dowels in the doors to just hang the door. This would change things.

it pivots at this bolt, and the chains are stupid

THIS is positive energy. I like it.
Car dudes sharing ideas. Everyone wins.

What side was Jigsaw hit on? Reason I'm asking is that the a-pillar, rocker, floor, rail, roof, b-pillar may have collapsed some with the front end hit. Just subtle enough to make tight gaps on that one side.

Jiggy was in what was called a low speed collision in a parking lot but I suspect it was above 10 mph by the way the fender apron and right frame rail looked.

There was a kink in the rail that isn't quite visible in the below photo.

The right front took the majority of the damage.

The lower support was bent enough to scrap.

I go back and forth on what to do and when to start on the bodywork.
I need to have a project here to keep me from sitting around and going bonkers. I can't just wash and wax a car, I have to be elbow deep in mechanical stuff to be happy.

Those pictures help. I do think I'll be able to make one of those door carts.
Although we had one specific vehicle at the plant, several different vehicles over the years, I made them all the time. The door buck had a groove in the bottom to hold the bottom lip and was carpeted. It was more or less, a plywood box with casters. The end of the door buck, had a pocket to hold the door perfectly straight up and down. The height was set for the car to have wheels and be on a flat floor. Once the door hinges were set, you pulled the buck out from the end. It was carpeted, because I built them to replace in system damaged, fully dressed doors.

Hey guys...
No, I have not abandoned, sold or parted out this car despite how it appears....

I've tinkered a bit here and there. August last year I tried installing a power booster from a mid 70s Dart, something similar to what I used before on the red Charger/Ginger. The idle vacuum on this engine is not that great, maybe 11" ? I ended up putting the manual master cylinder back in. I contemplated a swap to a wider axle to utilize a set of wheels with deep backspacing, an endeavor that made no sense in retrospect. I have this tendency to try to make do with what I have at hand and the set of 16" steel wheels would have given me a cool NASCAR vibe that I like.
Later in the year I fiddled around with adding rear shoulder belts and with the help of fellow FBBO member @CoronetDarter , we made some interesting changes that didn't cost much to do.
I have a few other projects going that should provide some cash to sink into this car and options are pretty open.
I will keep this car an automatic but will want some type of overdrive. the three options that I'm aware of is a 518 with a JW bellhousing, a Gear Vendors or a Silver Sport Overdrives A41 setup. The costs incrementally rise from one to the other.
I like the idea of staying with a big block but adding stroke to this engine. I have a 440 that is cut down to fit the B series block. I have the bearings for that too. I'd need a set of pistons and rings and of course, balancing. Is that expense worth only going from 383/388 to 431 cubes? Does it make more sense to go with The 440 Source for a 4.15 stroke? Part of me thinks that I don't necessarily think every big block needs to be almost 500 cubic inches. The red car is a 440/495 already, would I be okay with Jigsaw being "only" 431 cubes? I think that I might.
The suspension and brakes on this car are solid. I see no reason to make changes, even the rear drum brakes can stay. They are reliable and they work great. Mechanically, the car is well sorted. I would just like it to be a bit faster, get a bit better freeway mileage, be easier on me for road trips. As far as the appearance aspect...
It has been a few years since I have done a full body and paint job. I'd like to think that I still can do it well. I did the work on this car.....

I guess I'll find out if I ever get to it!

Based on the pic I like it the way it is (I know I don't get a vote!). I get making it easier on you for long trips, it seems a lot of my work on the Coronet is focused around that. Little by little...

lower your hood latch and / or pass side stop :poke:

shouldn't take but a few minutes, all ya gotta do is..............

Thanks. Look at the bumper fitment too. The passenger side hangs slightly lower, making the gap to the hood look bigger.

After stroking the Dart's Magnum to 408 ci last year, I don't think I could ever build a stock stroke motor again. Mega cubes is addicting.
