1973-1974 Roadrunner & GTX and Satellite Pic Thread

My 74 Roadrunner.. Started out as a dark moonstone metallic brown stripe delete car, with a tan interior.. It is a 400 4-speed car.

It was painted Panther Pink, then Petty Blue before I got it. Now it has a 383, (original engine was long gone before I got it)
it has 3.91s in an 8-3/4 rear end, still has a 4 speed.. I painted it Vitamin-C Orange, it now has a black interior, I added roll down
rear 1/4 windows from a Satellite, added a fuel cell, 17" wheels, redid the interior, (recently adding new gauges, carbon fiber pistol grip,
and changing all woodgrain to black.. though I kept original bezels, gauges, etc) Under the hood I added aluminum heads, new cam,
edelbrock performer RPM intake, MSD ignition, etc, etc.. Anyway, I will let the photos tell the story

I need a new engine bay pic.. I replaced the master/booster, and swapped this fuel injection back to a carb recently

I love that Runner man! I think I have seen this car on youtube with a great 180 from a take off. Tell me if that is the car? I have liked that video and I think I have tweeted it a few times.

Great looking car man and wow I love it!

Next up is a disk brake conversion for the rear

1973 Plymouth Roadrunner

Originally a 400/727 car, 400 got shipped off to minnesota in a challenger, so I put in a 440/727/8.75 w/3.91 gears. originally white with full vinyl top and wheel trim... sans the wheel trim and the top now.

All I can say is BEAUTIFULLY BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know I don't think I have seen a full vinyl roof on a 73-74 Roadrunner. I love the white cars in these years, is it me or does it do something different to the liines of the car.

Keep posting guys love these car and I'm getting an itch for a 73-74 that I'm about to scratch.

What size tires and is it tubbed?

I also love what you did with the side exauhst it was something I was thinking of and wondering it would look good or not AND IT DOES!

Great looking badass Roadrunner man!

One more thing I just look at pics again. What are the yellow lights? I like that look.

1974 Satellite Sebring. 318/727 combo, planning on building the 318 eventually saving up parts for now lol

Crazy part is this car is about 90% original. Including the top/paint/interior.

Another one with a 71 Spoiler and Plymouth decal on the 1/4s
Very nice! When I did mine in 98 I had not seen another with that combo.
Years later I saw one with a Plymouth decal with 70 Spoiler, but yours might
be the first one I have seen with the same combo I have.. I like it!
I have also thought about doing the yellow inner lights.. Looks good :)

71-74 B's have sooo much wheel well, it's not necessary to tub them unless you feel the need to run 18 inch wide tires.

I cry when I see one cut up.

That last white one with the AAR/TA exhaust just became my desktop wallpaper.

You gootta love a mostly original/all original car.
Mine is about 90%. Was 95% before I put the seats, mirrors and tuff wheel in.

What is the paint code on that bronze?

I love the your 74 Ssatellite Sebring. What are the plans for the motor? I have been thinking about looking into a 318 build just to see what kind of HP can be gotten out of one or if I get this 73 Roadrunner just swapping the motor out for now.

Great looking car and I really like that color combo with that top it stand outs!

I didn't know they had so much clearance under them that car just looks mean with the wheels and the pips sticking out the side and the yellow lights. I dig this car.

I've read about a build online where a magazine got 400 hp out of one. I am more or less following that build. Using magnum r/t heads like they did, but I am going with a roller cam instead of a flat tappet (no maintenance required). I am also going to put some roller rockers in the heads, and I will be running about 9.5:1 ratio compression rather than the 10:1 they were running. I have put all the specs of what I am going to be using into my desktop dyno computer program and it nets me a bit more than 400 hp and 400 tq. Only time will tell how close it is to those figures when I get it built.

not tubbed, 295/60/15's, fit with room to spare

Thos are NOS GE Amber lights I bought off a guy from Moparts.com about 4 years ago. They do not make that style anymore but they do make amber lights you can modify to accept stock wiring.

That sounds like a great build, do you have a link to the magazine build and your build? I would love to see that and it would give me a lot to think about and keeping the 318.

Thank you and I love the look of the wheels and the amber lights. I will check into this if and when I get the 73. Great looking Roadrunner you have man.

You have a great looking project and I dig those valve covers. Where did you get those? I have never seen 318 call out valve covers. I dig your ride man and keep us posted on it.

I don't actually have a build thread right now. Like I said still gathering parts for it and I will build it when I get all the parts. If you are curious about what parts I am using, go ahead and send me a pm and I will send you back what I have so far. But here is the magazine article.
