Will I be all right with a 2000 stall converter behind by 340 with a 509 cam?
It will work if that's what you mean... you might wanna post the rest of your nfo though like weight, gear.. desired driving style that sorta thing..Will I be all right with a 2000 stall converter behind by 340 with a 509 cam?
Not sure how they are gm guys when the make converters for ford/gm and mopar... they would be fools to not make gm tc's though.. why do the smallest market segment when you could actually grow and make money?I looked at the FTI web site and it appears they are GM guys. I'm a Dynamic guy but, for street use, almost any major brand will work.

Will you be alright? Sure, it will run and move. Will it be a good combination as far as sharp performance? Not at all. A 509 is a fairly large cam, for a small cubed short stroked motor. Throw an extremely small 2000 converter, and you have a package like a turbo waaaiting to get into the torque band. Will I be all right with a 2000 stall converter behind by 340 with a 509 cam?
Ok sure but,, looks like the less top the better? That's a teeny bikini
oh damn.. i had only noticed that fine looking cup of teaOk sure but,, looks like the less top the better? That's a teeny bikini
Agreed. I have a FTI 3600 Hard Hit in my 66 coronet. No problem cruising around the neighborhood, and it does hit hard when it launches off the line. Their tech guy was really good to talk with, give them the info (car and drive train combo) and they nailed the right converter for me.It will work if that's what you mean... you might wanna post the rest of your nfo though like weight, gear.. desired driving style that sorta thing..
I would go bigger, the fti 9.5", you can't even tell it's a higher stall til you stand on it, really nice to drive. I have a 3200 right now and a 3800 waiting for my next motor..
(PTC is also good at a good price, FTI was a joy to deal with though.. so they got my business)
