Hey all -
I just read that Steve Torrence had to withdraw from the Norwalk race this weekend. You need to change your Top Fuel driver pick if you picked Torrence like I did.

Conversation started with '64BEL' just after noon EDT (9:00AM PDT) this morning advising he needs to pick another Top Fuel driver since Steve Torrence is not participating at this event.
Still no change in his picks at the time I'm posting the Q1 results.
'64BEL', you can still post a new driver pick for Top Fuel but you will not pick up any Qualifying bonus points for the class this week.
Better to pick a new driver and possibly pick up round win points than to get nothing for the class.

Thanks, alsant! I worked a 12 today so not online all day.

I'll take Antron Brown, oc.

Thanks

Congrats to '6pk2goDemon' (FABO) and 'Gpuller' (FBBO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title for the second week in a row! Who do they think they are? Summit Racing Equipment Pro Stock drivers?
This time for the 2017 NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, OH. Both had an outstanding total of 31.0 bonus points. Only 1.0 bonus point from perfection! They both picked the #1 qualifier in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the #2 qualifier in Funny Car and Pro Stock. Way to go!
'Budnicks' (FBBO) was just behind, again, with 30.5 points.

We also had five players with 30.0 bonus points and five players with 29.0 bonus points from qualifying. Talk about parity!
Good luck all in eliminations tomorrow!

We have 17 players for the 12th event of the 2016 NHRA "Pick 'Em game season and 14 different driver combos made up of:
* 4 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups and a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations if they all survive the opening round.
* 7 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #6 qualifier Matt Hagan (4 picks) and #11 qualifier John Force (1 pick). There is also a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week. The first possibility of any head-to-head matchups is in the Semi-Final round of eliminations, and all four drivers could get there.

* 4 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups and a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations.

Good luck all!!!

Believe it or not, we're halfway through the 2016 NHRA season!
Here are the results and point standings following completion of the 12th event of the 2016 NHRA season.

Congratulations to '6pk2goDemon' (FABO), third week in a row, and 'Gpuller' (FBBO), second week in a row, for sharing the "Top Eliminations Picker" with an outstanding event total of 191.0 points. They both picked the class winners in Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and their Top Fuel pick lost in the semi-finals. Their point totals were helped with ET and Speed bonus points in Top Fuel and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'cuda20' (FABO) was right behind with 180.0 points.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Doug Kalitta, 3.719 during qualifying
Speed - Doug Kalitta, 327.51 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Del Worsham, 3.875 during qualifying
Speed - Del Worsham, 328.70 during qualifying

Pro Stock Motorcycle
E.T. - Eddie Krawiec, 6.822 during qualifying

Here are the game point standings after the 12th event of the 2016 season:

Finally we get a week of rest to think about the next event.
The 13th race of the 2016 season, the 19th Annual Route 66 NHRA Nationals, is July 7-10 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, July 8 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 6:15PM EDT (3:15 PM PDT).
The Route 66 NHRA Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 16 Top Fuel, 16 Funny Car, 18 Pro Stock and 20 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are always subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist13.aspx for an updated entry list.

For any players with previous "locked-in" picks that changed their picks for the Norwalk race, if you didn't indicate that your new picks were to be "locked-in" then I've returned you to your previous "locked-in" picks for the Route 66 Nationals and beyond. Let me know if this is not what you intended.

Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!
