2016 6th Annual FABO NHRA "Pick 'Em" Game - Get Ready To Make Your Picks!!!

Congrats to 'memike' (FABO) and 'super-bee_ski' (FBBO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title this week!
Both had very nice totals of 29.5 bonus points. 'memike' picked the #1 qualifier, the #2 qualifiers in Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the #4 qualifier in Pro Stock. 'super-bee_ski' picked the #1 qualifier in Funny Car, the #2 pick in Pro Stock Motorcycle, and the #3 qualifiers in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock. Way to go!
'Nick2317' (FBBO) was just behind, again, with 29.0 points.
Good luck all in eliminations tomorrow!

We have 17 players for the 13th event of the 2016 NHRA "Pick 'Em game season and 14 different driver combos made up of:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers with no Round 1 head-to-head matchups and a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations if they all survive the opening round.
* 6 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #7 qualifier Courtney Force (1 pick) and #10 qualifier Del Worsham (1 pick). There is also a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with a possible head-to-head matchup in the second round of eliminations.
* 4 different Pro Stock Motorcycle drivers with a possible head-to-head matchup in the second round of eliminations.

Good luck all!!!

Congrats to ski & nick, great job

Gotta say I enjoy watching the live coverage, but not at the expense of not seeing all of the Pro elimination runs! I couldn't believe how many 1st round and 2nd round runs were cut from the coverage - and then they had to fill the time with "crap" during the live coverage. Didn't NHRA claim they were going to be doing their own race coverage production? I'd be pissed if I was one of the racers who wasn't able to get my sponsor's name and logo out in front of the television audience, even if was in a losing cause. Whoever is doing the TV production better start taking note of this or they're going to be wondering why the sponsors are leaving the sport.

Ok, off my soapbox for now. Here are the results and point standings following completion of the 13th event of the 2016 NHRA season.

'Duster79' (FABO) smoked the rest of us!
Congratulations to 'Duster79' (FABO) for being "Top Eliminations Picker" with an outstanding event total of 200.0 points. He picked ALL FOUR CLASS WINNERS - and was also helped with ET bonus points in Pro Stock Motorcycle and Speed bonus points in Funny Car and Pro Stock.
'stroked340' (FABO) was the event runner-up with 158.5 points.
'Budnicks' was the top FBBO player with 137.5 points.

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Brittany Force, 3.692 during qualifying
Speed - Doug Kalitta, 330.55 during qualifying

Funny Car
E.T. - Matt Hagan, 3.882 during qualifying
Speed - Jack Beckman, 333.25 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Shane Gray, 6.578 during qualifying
Speed - Greg Anderson, 210.24 during Round 1 of eliminations

Pro Stock Motorcycle
E.T. - Andrew Hines, 6.833 during Round 1 of eliminations

Now we get two off weeks to get ready for the rare air of the 5,860' altitude of Bandimere Raceway at the first event of the three grueling weeks of the Western Swing.
The 14th race of the 2016 season is the 37th Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, July 22-24 in Morrison, CO.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, July 22 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 7:00PM EDT (4:00 PM PDT).
The Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 14 Top Fuel, 15 Funny Car, 16 Pro Stock and 16 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are always subject to change. Keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist14.aspx for an updated entry list.

As before for any players with previous "locked-in" picks that changed their picks for the Joliet race, if you didn't indicate that your new picks were to be "locked-in" then I've returned you to your previous "locked-in" picks for the Mopar Mile-High Nationals and beyond. Let me know if this is not what you intended.

Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!

I still think coverage is way better than ESPN. But thats my opinion!

Good job Bud! Nice qualifying Ski!

I actually got to watch the race. Yes why cant they show all the rounds and interview everybody like ESPN did? Plus the last hour of junk before the finals are a struggle. Actually shut off the TV before the finals and when outside to get some work done. When it ESPN up the race on the air it was well run.

I'm actually surprised I was top FBBO points
my only winner was Antron

thanks guys & thanks ocdart

Mopar Mile High picks

T/F Antron Brown

F/C Ron Capps
{Mopar's DSR Napa car, has been the dominant funny car lately}

P/S Allan Johnson
{I hope he does well, he was dominant there, before EFI,
but the KB Camaro/Summit Racing team has pretty much
had the field covered lately too, until the last race
}

P/SM Eddie Krawiec

Hey all, here's your 'Tuesday before the event' reminder (a day late - sorry about that) to get your picks posted for the upcoming 37th Annual Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals, July 22-24 at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, CO.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, July 22 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 7:00PM EDT (4:00 PM PDT).
The Mopar Mile-High NHRA Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 16 Top Fuel, 16 Funny Car, 16 Pro Stock and 23 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries, but the counts are always subject to change. Keep checkinghttp://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist14.aspx for an updated entry list.

Don't forget to post your picks before Pro Qualifying starts - you don't want to miss out on all the bonus points.

Also, don't forget the television coverage is on the national Fox network channel for all three of the Western Swing race events. You'll be able to see the race coverage even if you don't have cable. Sunday's Final television coverage will be 3:00-6:00PM EDT (Noon-3:00PM PDT).

NOW HERE'S SOME GOOD READING!!!

Mopar and Pennzoil will sponsor Leah Pritchett's Top Fuel ride for selected 2016 events according to announcements today on both CompetitionPlus.com and NHRA.com.

Neither article said anything about the full balance of 2016 or anything about 2017, just "selected 2016 events".
The new Mopar/Pennzoil Top Fuel dragster will debut tomorrow at the Mopar Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere.
OUTSTANDING to see that blue Mopar M on the side of a quality Top Fuel car!
Best of luck to Leah! I hope it rolls over into a full-time ride for the remainder of 2016, all of 2017 and going forward!

Also, Richie Stevens will be in a 2nd Dodge Dart Pro Stock for Deric Kramer at the Mile-High Nationals.
