318 la adjustable rockers

Find a set of 273 adjustable rockers, usually around $150-$175 in good shape.

Crane Super Gold Rollers, hard anodized & new HD shafts
or some MP, Crane or Isky etc. ductile iron org. style adj. rockers
are all far less $$$

the Harlan Sharps are really nice, just not a budget style rocker

don't forget
you'll need to measure for the proper length
& ball/cup style pushrods, depending on what rockers you chose

good luck

Take a look at the Crane ductile iron version if you don't find the OEM 273 version.
the adjusters are always suspect on most all the ductile iron rockers
need to make sure they are quality hardware
also the threads on the adjusters shouldn't
extend out of the bottom of the rockers
any more than like 3 threads worth "total"
or they are prone to oil starvation,
especially on a push rod cup & ball side of adj. set up,
on any style of roller or non roller ductile iron adj. rockers

just figured I'd mention that

it's a very common mistake many do make
usually too short of a push rod, one size fits all mentality
too much adjuster sticking out the bottom,
can be prone to break the adjusters too

pushrod length is critical also

Opinions on this set? I found the ductile iron version for around 450. Not including shafts. Can i resue my stock 318 rocker shafts or will i need to purchase new rocker shafts.?

Bud, I agree that the adjuster hardware needs our attention. I found my Crane adjusters totally inadequate. Always replaced them with Isky's.

Emailed them they want 450 for a refurbished set of rockers. Seems steep dont it?
I just called them, $264 exchange, $364 complete set with shafts and maybe hold downs. There is a $100 core. I then asked about just the rocker, and he said $25 each????? They do have good deals, just call them and talk to Hector. Tell them that Dave from "Precision Machine Service" told you to call them.

Thanks 69bee
Finally got my rockers in and heads torqued on! They fit perfect.
