383/440 distributor and ignition question

I have a 1978 440 with lean burn ignition and from all the research I have done to do a lean burn delete I need a new distributor and ignition system. I can’t afford a new ignition system right now but I know where I can get a dodge Newport with a 383 for very cheap. So would a ignition system and distributor from a 383 2 barle will work on my 440? And what other parts and pieces are interchangeable between the 383/440?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No the distributor shaft from the 383 is shorter
