Hello,
i have a numbers matching Superbee, looking to do a mostly stock rebuild on it. What is your favorite go to source for quality 383 stock rebuild parts. Needs Everything, rings, pistons, rods, gaskets, seals, plugs, blots etc etc. Maybe do a mild cam. no drag racing just around town and cruiser.

i have no rods to begin with, just the block and heads and intake/exhaust manifold
When most people say they are doing a rebuild they have an engine it's kind of assumed they have the reciprocating assembly.

ive got the crank too! yes you're right i should probably say im doing a 'build' but its the original engine so my head was thinking rebuild to a performance (non stroker) 383

Plus.. i just looked at 440 sources list... they have a 383 to 496 kit and i would trust those rods/crank more than OEM replacement parts if you plan on beating on the car (which i hope you are) :)

its debatable!... id have to learn a bit more about strokers in that case
Understandable.. Always learn all you can before jumping in.. Advice i always give and never use myself.. I'm building a 318 that will cost me twice what i could put a 440 in.. just cause of a whim.. i am my own worst enemy :)

I concur with the stroker plan. The 451 size revs like hell!

Be careful when buying pistons and head gaskets. Stock rebuild kits can end up with a whole point or more less compression and a doggy motor. Ask me how I know.

Rods might be tricky. The last 383 I built needed two rods replaced. I could not find stock rods new, so I bought a box full off a member and sorted through them. The only cast HP pistons I could find at the time were Keith Black. Choices are limited.
