I'm hoping to tuck them up and back more by notching them for the rocker seam and some other things. Forgot to mention they are 3.5"..

Forgot to mention I put the old stock drive shaft back in, for now. Had to get a special u-joint since the yoke is bigger on the chunk that I put in a while back. I'm gonna get another shaft or new bigger ends put on this one since the caps are hanging out. Will be taking it easy till then.

Yep! Funny story, I busted some straps years ago on one of my 70 RRs. 1st time was coming off the start line with cold slicks and after fixing it broke again at the finish line next run due to bad repair, both in the same day, not a good feeling either time.. I wanted to get the u bolt type retainers but not sure if they make any for this yoke unless I drill the holes out bigger. But someone said that the u bolt type were bad about getting too tight and ruining the needle brgs. So I'll probably let the driveshaft shop tell me what I need when I get a new set up.

I've carried spares since I had to go car to car at Luskville Quebec in 1980 begging for some straps so i could drive home on a Sunday. Broke mine running brackets in the 13's... slamming gears with my 2.94's !

Got the left side exhaust unit done. Nice and easy to remove for a strip visit. This one side took about 10 hrs of exhausting work..

Anyone know where I can find this slotted kick down top link rod, and spring,? for a 68- 440 charger w/holley and w/727.. I've been searching with no luck other than a full set for $300+. I've got everything but that rod and spring.

Where did you get your kit?
I tried looking everywhere for a kick down linkage because I couldn't believe how much they wanted for them. But then everything on this car has been expensive.
I bought mine from Year One # KE440. They were pretty proud of it, it cost me $405.00.

I went to a lokar cable kickdown. so much less fooling around from all those linkages.

I've got the kit from a '71 440 4bbl/727 as its take off. I can't tell if the rod and spring are the same...

PM me if you're interested in a picture or two.

Thanks anyway, A bud found the link I needed today, or one that's close anyway. Now to make it work.

Got the shifter all finished., the cable routing is tuff on these.. And I got the right side exhaust all done. Next up is to fill the brake system, engine, trans, rear end, and radiator., prior to a test crank up hopefully within a week or so. I'm having trouble finding the best throttle cable for my setup, not really sure what length I should get. Any suggestions? I have a holley 750 on a stock 440 intake with a 1" spacer.
