new 456,457 springs with ext.hangers-- now body below tire down on rim. 15x8 4.5 bs 275-60r15 tires. how do i get it back up??

I put new Hotchkiss handling springs on my 66 and it was too low.

Could flip spring hangers in front, I went temporary cheap and put on 1500 lb helper leafs.
Brought it up 1 and 3/4 inch, and made it handle even better.
I had been getting wheel well rub on the driver side with passengers.

I thought the 66 and later used the 3800 lb. springs??? I used those on my 65 Bel to get a little height in the rear. I'm sure there are other opinions out there.

You can use extended rear shackles. If you flip the front hangers, you will likely throw you pinion angle off requiring you to cut/replace/re-weld rear end spring seats. Do you have tire clearance problems or just like it to sit higher up?

Are the hanger extensions the 2 hole position type ? If so try the lower hole.

Ok, my springs where to low and i put 275/60 r15 tires on back and used new monroe Airshocks! Shocks lost air everyday. So to fix problem i bought 3400lb. super stock springs 456/457 with extended hangers. installed them with new gas shocks and let it down off lift , just kept sinking til it was an 1 inch or more below top of rim. Tires where rubbing and couldn't be driven. Heard about Smith spring in jackson ohio ,took old springs down next day they rearched them and added one full leaf below main just a little over a $100. bucks with new u bolts too. As you can tell from pics it raised it up and already settled some and has a great ride not stiff at all. Thanks Craig
