gonna buy a new tank for my '68 440. it originally had the two vent tubes coming out of the tank so do I need to buy a new one that has them as well or can I do away with them without any problems (ie. vapor lock, etc..)?? any help is appreciated!

Some folks have problems filling an empty gas tank, even with the vent tubes. I recommend that you get a replacement tank that has them.

I agree, better to have the vents.
