69 Super Bee restoration

Hey guys, as I’ve been repairing some of the rust on the bottom side of the package tray and the trunk supports I’ve been knocking off loose rust and using a product called Corroseal to convert the rust. It works the same way and leaves the same black coating as the other products that are similar. Do you know if it’s a good thing or OK to just epoxy primer over the top of this?

I don't know where to get one. I think rotating it, like oldbee mentioned, would work.
Note to self......forget trying to replace brushes and cleaning the brush plate. Just order a new solenoid already complete with all the parts you need! Says good with all gear reduction starters. Looks exactly the same.

Well if you're going all date code stuff, then yes I can see going the route you went.

If not worried about correct date code, then a rebuilt aftermarket starter is the way to go. This 3258 starter is the same one I used on my 499 stroker engine a few years back. Although "Pure Energy" was not the vendor for mine, the part number is the same, so I think it is the same rebuilder that did mine. Best damn (full size) starter I've ever had on a Mopar (and I've had a lot of them over 45 years and multiple cars) cranks a lot faster than most even on that BIG engine.

Vendor on my starter was "GENCO" and yes it was the same 3258 part number. Rated at 1.8 HP, high output. IIRC they had 3 different rated Chrysler starters available, the 3258 was the highest output of the three.

WOW! Thanks for the info. I had no idea starters were so inexpensive. My past experience has been with older VW stuff and even a remanufactured Bosch starter starts around $140.

Got the starter all finished and spending the day making some small pieces that are note reproduced.

Getting it done!

I liked fabricating my own parts and you will save a bunch of money doing it as long as you enjoy the work. Keep up the nice work.

Looking for a little advice on my air-conditioning system. The car did not originally come with AC. At some point I believe in 1971 the original owner had it installed. I have all of the brochures and the original equipment. What happened was they cut a section out of the lower lip of my air cleaner base to make room for the AC pump. Should I keep the AC or get rid of it since it was not original?

It’s ur car!!!! A/C sure is nice, but(?)

Hey guys, it’s been along time since I’ve posted here. I’ve been working on the Bee and getting a lot done. Decided to step back in and post some more pictures and update my garage/restoration. Most recently I’ve been working on restoring my steering column. Prior to that I finished restoring my heater box. I was able to get the entire rear end back together. Got my door hinges restored by Mopar Leo. Got the doors back on and set. Restored and replace the upper Cowl section, Left and right door lock and hinge pillar‘s. What a FANTASTIC car you're gonna have! !!!!
I love my Cuda, but I so want a B-Body!!!

Jeff
Thank you. Man it has been a long project. To the point that I bought a 65 Dart to drive and play with while the Bee is under construction. The 65 gets me the driving of a classic I need while in wait for the Bee but it has also distracted me from the Bee. I’m back on it now that the Dart is together and a runner.
