So condensed story-The first Road Runner I remember seeing was a brand new In Violet '71. I was 8 and I still remember that little Road Runner head in the grill. I told my grandma that I would have one someday. I bought my first Road Runner(a '70) in 1979, street raced the crap out of it, got in a little trouble and had to sell it in 1981, the same year that I graduated. This one is my 17th and the one that I plan on keeping. I bought it as a restored stocker about 12 years ago and it has slowly been morphing back to 1979. I have been gathering era correct parts since I before I bought it and finally decided it was time to do it right. So I sold the Harley and chopped '37 pickup that I had built along with the fresh 470 stroker that I had built for Road Runner to build the car that I would have wanted in high school.
Here's the way it looks now:

Here's some what I have collected that is destined for this build:
472 Hemi- there's a long story about this, but I'll just say that I will never buy another assembled motor long distance even if the seller is supposed be a reputable engine builder. It has taken me 2 months and more $ to get it to what it should have been to begin with. But it's ready now:
I'll be using the 6 pak carbs that are on the 383 in the car now:
Fresh full manual shift, standard valvebody 727 so that I can keep the slap stik shifter:
Rebuilt and powder coated k-member with skid plate and reinforcing:
15X11 Ansens with N50 bias plies:
A few other goodies:
Now that the Polara is done, I will be digging into this along with my 19 year old son's '72 Dart that will be getting the 383 out of the Road Runner (not numbers matching) and finishing up my 16 year old son's Duster. I will post progress pics as I go.
