so I figured since I was building this car and using the info on this site for that purpose I figured it only right to let yall in on how my baby is coming along. so to start off the car really isn't in bad condition for a 41 year old car. the car was very complete and only needed expendable parts, half the trunk floor, a quarter drop off and other little things. to me not so bad lol. I found the build sheet and its pretty rough, i cant make much of it out but the fender tag is there and correct as are the numbers on the engine. the upgrades I plan on doing is replacing all the rubber bushings front to back the red poly. the front seat belts are a 3 point conversion, edelbrock carb and intake, im also going to be changing the distributor to a hei style that only needs 1 ignition wire and uses a stock style coil.other things will be added im sure but the goal is to get the runs ,moves n stops working. its brakes and windshield away from being nys inspected. I have a ton of new parts for it so instead of listing it all stay tuned ill be posting pics and such every time I do something to it.but for now here some pics IMG_0074.jpgIMG_0078.jpgIMG_0088.jpgIMG_0205.jpgIMG_0255.jpgIMG_0254.jpg

Welcome to the site! I was about where you are about two years ago, but it sounds like you've got a lot less parts-chasing time ahead of you.

I'm looking forward to seeing how your car turns out. :)

Welcome from Minnesota. I really dig yellow cars and I think yours will be cool.

thanks alot guys.hsorman that's one sweet yellow 73. today I pulled the gauges and heater controls apart, I installed white over lays instead of buying white gauges, they turned out good some wrinkleing in the spedo but ill work on it more tomorrow, I cleaned and repainted the part that holds the lenses (idk the name of it,lol)but It looks good.i have new wiper and headlight nobs on the way from ebay. im going to polish the lenses tomorrow and repaint the fuel, amps, oil and temp words on the lens holder, lol . I am kind of stumped on what to do about the gauge bezel. it looks faded in spots. what should it look like? im not building it to be a show car but I want it nice so leaving it alone is not a option for me.also I want to paint the needles,i was thinking black to off set the white gauges, and since im using yellow led dash lights I think the black would work great, but im open to suggestions. theres also gonna be some little surprises on the gauges. which is y I haven't posted pics of them yet, gonna wait till they are completely done. ill prolly say it a thousand times but thank the good lord for this web site and the people on it, I have learned so much from just reading this site.

if anyone ever ask how much I love my roadrunner I have ink to prove it, theres a picture of my new seat covers, the bad part of my trunk floor, and the dash currently.will be loading more pictures tonight or so. hope yall don't mind I have a ton of pics.

73Bitterbird, Looks like a great project, im sure you'll have some fun! Post up that ton of pictures, you'll get nothing but kudos man!!

Cool car, one of the big things I always liked about Mopar is the bright colors and cool graphics not to mention the baddest motors haha. Good luck, she'll be a beaut

IMG_0294.jpgIMG_0292.jpgIMG_0290.jpgIMG_0203.jpgIMG_0206.jpgoh ya shes gonna be bright. I really wanted a blue one like my dad had. but i have loved this bright yellow machine most of my life. im kind of lost on how to restore this gauge bezel, im prolly just going to try and match the paint on parts of it. also got some more parts for her and going to look at a dana for it. so for now here a couple pics of my dads 73 when he first got it, a small preview of the gauges, the damage on the right quarter panel and the valve covers i plan on using.

IMG_0269[1].jpgIMG_0246[1].jpgIMG_0182[1].jpg here you go us old guys have a hell of a time twisting our necks -cramps.

Love the yellow! Mine is Daffodil yellow, a manly color indeed!

Looks like you are thawing out and melting like we are.

Keep us updated on your progress

thanks for fixing the pics for me snakeyes. and yes mtmopar these manly shades make us tougher lol. and were tryin to thaw out but mother nature keeps dumping this crap from above. so couldn't sleep tonight so I went and pulled the intake, carb, water pump going to replace all the gaskets and check out the timing chain.also started cleaning the engine bay up up its in good shape just very dirty. the previous owner was good keeping the running good but never really cleaned under the hood. I also removed the console to restore it. hoping it can get the light in the shift indicator to work.it didn't work in 91 when It was parked so im hoping not a big problem.my front seats need new covers but I have temporary covers for them till i can afford good covers.the rears are not ripped but are very brittle.im looking into leather n vinyl restore products to make it last.also got a lil help from the car gods and most of the weather striping around the doors can be used, just need the window sweeps and the rubber in between the side windows. but im giving her a rest for the week its time to get my dirt racecar ready for race season so ill be a little busy. but will return with some sweet pics im sure.

I'm going to enjoy watching you rebuild your car. I had a 74 RR that was the blue color you wanted only mine had the black stripe. Bring on the pictures.
