Anyone done an aftermarket A/C, Classic Air or Vintage Air in their car?
It looks like both systems recycle the inside air? do they pickup outside air at all? I like the electronic servos on the Vintage Air Gen IV magnum, but they don't sell a "surefit" system for the Mopar B-Body. Classic Air does sell a B-Body specific system, but it uses the cables to operate system.
Vintage air has cable adaptors to convert the stock heater panel to electronic inputs to the system which is one feature I like.

I have the Vintage Air Gen 4 and it fit well, ac works ok, heater will melt you and it wasn't hard to make a few brackets to support it and the electric servos are awesome.

I have used the Classic system in my 67 Satellite and installed one in a Friends 79 Lil Red Express, both systems worked very well. We used a fully electronic system in the Lil Red, cable control in the Satellite.

i think all the aftermarket ac systems recirculate inside only.most people dont want to cut a hole in there hotrod for outside air pickup.(all the systems i have seen, used and installed anyhow)

Thanks for that info. I've been considering the Classic Auto Air system for my car. Was the electronic system you used custom built or Classic Air supplied it?

My VA just uses the inside air, and man does that blower kick ass. The ggod thing about a CAA system is you can take it apart for cleaning or maintence or if a blend door breaks or whatever, VA isn't like that. The electric controls make the fan speed and vent doors totally adjustable to your comfort level.

What does A/C works OK mean? I'm looking for a unit that cools well on 90 to 100+ degree days.

Well I have a dark car, non tinted windows, black interior and when it is 105 ambient the vent temps will only get to 58 degrees. My magnum gets that low also, so maybe it's working just fine...and yeah, the pressure's are right on and filled to the oz. per VA's instructions. My car does have dynomat on the floor, fire wall and the roof and I'm sure that helps.

That sounds good to me. Asking because Classic advertises it has a larger A/C core, but not sure how it compares in the real world.

Classic Auto Air. Tampa. Six years and ice cold with no issues ever. Kept us alive in Reno at 105 degrees.

Vintage works great in my pals 70 'Cuda. It has a better distribution than mine but is newer generation.
