Beefed up Cam

Just got a 69 383 road runner last summer. Has a high performance holly intake manifold. Is there anyway of telling if the cam has been upgraded. Just tuned it up runs great.

You can measure the lift with a dial indicator.

Does it idle like grandmas station wagon? Or like the little old lady's super stock Dodge?

Also with that dial indicator you can measure the duration on the hub. I checked my "mystery cam" four times, and averaged the results. When I pulled the engine apart six months later and actually determined make and grind of the cam I had nailed it dead on (with the catalog specs).

Very tedious though.
