When installing a oil pressure gauge how and do I need to weld the brass line into the fitting like the photo or can I just insert and tighten?

That line is set in length. You use the fittings and route the line as needed.

Keep line pushed in as you tighten and don't overtighten. No welding, it has a compression fitting to seal it. Those look like they are already seated.

Yes compression fitting. It compresses on the line and doesn't come off.

You cut the line to length. Put the nut on the line, put the ferrule on the line and both it together.

Look at the picture. The line is pre-terminated. There is no compression ferrule.

You could do that with any copper line and brass fittings if wanted, but there is really no need as good compression fittings seal up good and normally don't leak. Somebodies just trying to make extra $ as the Summit kit has 6 Ft of line in it too, which you can cut to the right length and install for about half the price.
