Cam question

Sounds like time to do an engine rebuild and be done with it. Have changed cam's but it is a job with in itself. When racing you do a lot with pulling cam's and changing tappets. Just wanting to get the most power we could get. Sometimes we would wipe out a lob on the cam or have tappets that would not work. You will be much better off with a fresh motor in the car and be amazed at the power you will have. Good luck.

Listen the PRHeads. On the Stock 50+ year old heads, the valve springs are going to be very low on seat pressure, the seals likely cracked and falling off, the guides might be worn, and the unleaded fuel will wear out the exhaust seats.

Having the heads rebuilt with a few performance mods is likely to make more power than changing the cam.
Ed's Machine YouTube channel has some good videos of what is involved:

Aftermarket heads are a common option also.
