Camshaft selection for Mild 440?

This ones got a bit more lift, im wanting to stay under the threshold of what the springs that come with the 440 stealth heads can handle. and i deff dont want anything that will kill bottom end since most of my driving is done from a stop to around 4000. i think the max is .510 on the stealth head springs.


That Comp cam is almost the same specs as the Summit 6401
 
yeah something a bit over a stock 6pack is about what im after, 400HP/500 TQ at the crank.

I just keep finding A LOT of conflicting information about what the actual specs of the 6 pack cam were.
 
yeah, the 6401 looks pretty good but i just wasnt feeling that 114 LSA.
Yeah, I prefer a 106-108 for my engines, but mine aren't intended to be mild street engines.
I have a solid roller on a 104 that I REALLY wanted to use, but it hit the rods I was using, so it's still sitting on the shelf.....waiting.
 
I just watched an Engine Masters episode last night on the motorhome 440 they put a turbocharger on. It was a stock low compression 440 and they ran that Comp 268H cam. They ran it naturally aspirated with stock heads and again with Trick Flow 240's. You should see if you can watch it and it would show you the curve that cam generates and also the effect of a better head.

i really like the 110 im running in my 360 currently. i think its a great compromise

A Chrysler 6pack cam is a Magnum or HP cam.
But there is a MR Sixpack cam as well.
 
+1 on Hughes! Great cams. Call them and ask what they recommend. Good heads will require less cam to meet your HP goals.
 
Those are pretty impressive numbers from a low compression crap motorhome 440 with a set of TF's bolted on! I should be well above my minimum power goals with the superior bottom end of the 69 motor.
