My 60 ft. times have been struggling with the 8" converter I installed at the beginning of this season. I footbrake the car.
My e.t.s and mph. have been ok, just sluggish off the line.
Yesterday I pulled it out and installed the 9.5" that I got with the car.
I haven't run the refreshed 9.5 with this motor yet.
Best 60 with the 8" has been 1.39.
Best with the 9.5" was 1.33, but with similar et and mph.
Hopefully I can test it thus weekend.

BTW,
I just picked up this harbor freight motorcycle jack that works great for trans removal/install.

Someone told me there is a lot of value in one trip down the track. Lot of truth in that especially when you spend a lot of money to make a change.

Good Luck. I've been running a 9.5" since day 1.

Is there any advantages for running a 9.5 vs 8 inch for track car only

:lol:So I have good news and bad news with my converter swap.
The bad news was that I realized that I put the wrong converter in.
The old converter from my GTX that I thought was in my storage unit was in my garage. That went in the car...
The good news is that what took me a day and a half to do the first time, only took 4 hours this time.
Chalk one up to experience.

So I thought today was going to be another disaster.
Went to Island to a race which was just a test session for me.
First pass with the 9.5 converter wasn't good.
I tried 13lbs. In my tires which it didn't like.
First time shot 1.444 60ft. Spinning.
Went to shift into 3rd and no dice. Stayed in 2nd.
In the pits I adjusted shifter linkage. Seemed good to go.
I'm waiting to hear my class get called and I see my buddy going down track. He's in my class!.
They never called us but he saw other cars head up so he went.
I missed second time shot.
On to first round.
11 lbs in rears. Dial a 9.90 because...
Wound up breaking out on the brakes.
Car had a respectable 60 ft @ 1.37 .
No leaks, shifted all gears, left the line good.
This is the happiest I've been losing a race ever.
Finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel with all the changes.
8 " converter was sent back for adjustment.

Gotta say it’s pretty cool reading about the race results of you and others. It’s not the path I’ve chosen for my old B-body, being mostly stock, but it’s a lot of fun to see what can be wrung from one if desired.

Thanks for that.
Mine is actually a pretty basic build.
446 motor, with light body and good chassis.
