Cylinder head and cam question

Cam and gear were both changed. Keep your fingers crossed as I will be breaking it in this weekend.

Thats a double roller as long as it doss not piston all fun as hell keep it under 32 full .

IT'S ALIVE!!!!

My buddy came over to help break in the cam. It started on the first turn of the key and it runs great. I am very relieved since I previously lost a cam on break in on the 400 in my cuda. I popped the air cleaner back on and now you can't see any of my nice clean engine.

Nice job, congratulation Dave, time to start the season!

You bet Wolfgang. I found a couple of bad plug wires, so I ordered new ones, and I want to swap the carb over to the Street Demon, but it's running. I was feeling bad about not being able to go to Carlisle, but that definitely cheered me up.

That cam idles nice Kim. Looking forward to going for a drive to check it out.

I took the car out for a drive last weekend and it ran alright but the old carb was acting up. It was idling too low and had a huge hesitation. I decided not to waste any more time on it and swapped on the new Street Demon. I took it out for a drive today and it was a night and day difference. The new carb is much more responsive and I can now feel some extra power.

Thanks Kim. Going to the first car cruise tomorrow. I'll be able to give it more of a run.

Drove to a local cruise today with some buddies I usually go to Carlisle with. First time we were all together in about two years. Car ran great there and back.

I drove the car to work today to have the Charger aligned again after changing the steering box. The steering wheel is centered again and it tracks straight now. On the way home I decided to turn the air on. Good news, all my effort to work around the air conditioning was worth it. It still blows cold!

I seemed to still have a bit of a fuel percolation problem so I wanted to add some sort of insulating gasket. First I checked hood clearance, minimum 1 inch. I had two choices left over from my racing days, a 1/4 inch fiber gasket and a 1/2 inch composite four hole spacer.

I checked the four hole spacer and it lined up exactly with the secondaries on the street demon carb, so I decided to use it. We'll see how it works out.
