Ah!The center support / hood latch
Was it that way in the mid 60's? I was rubbing out the paint on a 66 Belvedere that was about 3 years old. The car was about 3-4 years old and I rubbed too much and black showed up....Yes was told when I first started at a shop light colors light primer, dark colors dark primer
My tag says FE5 and its a 70The 1st letter indicates the Year, F is for the year 71.. E is for 70..
Note that Mopar did change tints year from year, also even though the paint code
may be the same there were slight differences between each assembly locations..
Just my $0.02...![]()

Now you've got it. You've got a (E) 69 paint on your 70 rr. Then in 71 (G), B5 formula was changed slightly, so now GB5.Hmmm..
In 1970 B5 was tagged E-B5..
Further digging discloses...
The 1st letter designation is tied to year of that specific paint code color introduction, not the car model year. For example, my 1970 Plymouth RoadRunner has E-B5 which was 1st introduced in 1969 and carried over in to 1970....
