Can't remember Dan's last name right now but we got along just fine but Mark hated me lol. Both are gone now.....the car was good with Dan driving it. 4 speed car, Jerico box.

Cool find, back when times were good.
Raced against them many times. Car was owned by Dan Bell and driven by Mark Artis. They called me the "Yankee". Lots of kidding back and forth and fun between us. We hung chrome fender skirts on it once as a joke. The others in the group, Kenny Eakles and Damon Kuhn are still around. Damon built a car in the same vein as the Ford. A 60 Plymouth called Fugly. Both cars were 4 speeds with similar suspension and wheelbase.

Yup, got it backwards. IIRC, Dan had a stake if not 100% owner of the Texas Outsiders shop up in Frisco Tx? Been there once and know Damon. Don't remember why I went to Damon's house years back it but it was when I was planning on building my 66 (as a 67) Belvedere into an NSS car and went to look into his transmission. Think he had one apart and went to look at it. Anyways, he took me for a ride in Fugly and showed me the way it needed to be shifted....even when driving around the pits etc. If you ever came to the Houston track (Baytown), we probably crossed paths or even met.

For sure Mark was the driver. We raced together in N/SS for over 10 years. Their entire group and ours were pretty close. Damon had a 73 Challenger back then. Today he has a Nostalgia funny car called Passin Gas

It kinda surprised me that he got that FC. I keep up with him on FB but haven't talked with him in awhile now. Love the name of the car too and sounds like a name he would pick! After all, it's in line with the Fugly name, right? He told me some years back that I needed to get things done before getting too old. I guess he's not too old yet lol

yea I raced with Mark in NSS for many years, I really liked Mark he was kind of funny grumpy in a good way. I believe Clay Kossuth in Catawissa was trying to sell the Ford for the family and had it at his shop. Clay and Damon are good buddies. If I was a Ford guy I would snap it up.

Met Clay and his wife too....very friendly and their 'parts yard' was cool!
Heck, he's 8 years younger than me.

In conversation I asked Damon how old he was and he said that he didn't remember his birth date lol. I'm 74 and feeling older more often than not.

We both were on a NSS website and well, maybe he didn't like my posts? Generally, I get along with just about everybody but from time to time, someone will shy away or think I'm a jerk.....and sometimes I am a jerk.
