The local el-cheap-o parts store carries one size that looks like an eighteen-gauge wire and no rating on its package.. I'm replacing a higher amp alternator, sixty-five amp, that will need a higher than stock "f-link". My question is, what size link am I looking for? eBay has several different sizes. Does the length of this wire change anything?

I just found this: "A fusable link" needs to be of a gauge four times smaller than what it's trying to protect.

Thanks

Are you replacing a 65 amp unit with a higher output unit? How much more? What extra electrical load have/will you be adding?
