That’s the only thing I can guess. Even though it’s getting new cam and lifters and stuff. I’m still taking notes, this isn’t just a throw something in kinda things, it’s an inspect and repair.
The old lifters look beautiful as far as I know. The push rods look like they’ve gotten a little hot. Does this mean anything?

Nothing like having a really good look at all of those internal moving pieces. This is the interesting part of really knowing what you’re running on. Great thread and please keep posting.
The discoloration on the pushrods wouldn’t concern me much, it could be from welding the tips on. The semicircular piece is another story, it looks like a failed rocker shaft spacer. Where did the rest end up?

Looks like the pushrod is about to come through the stamped rocker. Is the pushrod seat separated or cracked?

Too small for one of the spacers.
With that offset it looks like a spring clip/clamp. Maybe from a PCV valve?
That was my first thought, but using Cheapsunglasses hand for scale I thought it was too large in diameter. Maybe he has hands like Marco Rubio…

That’s what I can’t figure out, all the spacers looked fine. And that’s the only piece I could find.

That’s a good possibility!
Yes that is part of the retaining ring for a positive lock teflon type valve seal.

Ah ha, looking at 440 sources website, yep. Is there any reason it could fail, or just an oopsy
Just talked to a guy yesterday that had the exact same thing. They were new source heads.
That's retarded, not advanced.
Should feel real 440 power when it's timed properly.
