I was out of town for work for a few days, so my wife took my mother out ...along with my sister and her daughter. Mum shared a story about me from over 40 years ago.
They went to an old historic house here in Auckland for a Morning tea with scones. During the visit they toured the old house which has many original furnishings in place - and all roped off for protection. They all laughed when standing in one bedroom looking at a huge mirror.....when I was there as a teenager, and heavily subdued with hayfever, I had let out an almighty sneeze (uncontrollable) and the resulting globule of snot went at a terrific pace - landing right in the middle of that mirror.
The room was full at the time....and the globule started running down the glass. We left fairly quickly. It has been a family joke all these years. I feel sorry for the person who cleaned it up.
BTW...apparently the tea and scones were nice, a bit late, but nice.
Happy Mother's Day to all out there.

I haven't been back since.
