the V shaped conector is to plug an extension pigtail to reach the Buzzer which gets an L shaped plug just like flashers. So you need to get or fabricate the harness extension.
the lights on buzzer ( actually lights on since gets feeded by the parking light circuit not the headlights ) locates between ashtray and glovebox

this is a 72/73 setup ( pic taken from a 73 actually ), but lights on buzzer is the same for 71. The rest is not part of 71s
ANYWAY, the lights on buzzer was AN OPTION, not really standard equipment, and comes with the A01 light group as far I recall. So if not optioned you'll get the plug hanging around without anything plugged there
Hmm why is the connector not V shaped unless I'm using the wrong connector? But it was wired to the door switch also. Makes sense in that case, my car never came with one. I'll leave it out and hang the wire just in case I ever want one.
Ok... lets see. The V shaped conector is allways present. Then when light group package was optioned get a harness plugged there to reach the lights on buzzer.
The door jam switch is allways present because it turns on the dome light ( obviouslly ) and also triggers the key in buzzer ( just the driver side switch ) which is STANDARD on all cars since 70, and this buzzer is part of the horn relay in all 71/73.
The 71/73 horn relay and buzzer plugged on top of fusebox gets 4 prongs, being the separated one from the rest the buzzer function input via ground from door:
the reason to the 3 pins on driver side ( and two or single terminal on passenger ) is because all feeded grounds must be separated between passenger and driver side to be activated JUST from driver side, like the key in buzzer. In that way on a separated circuit won't be activated when passenger door is opened.
Can't recall why on earliers used 3 pins since on laters ( I thought 72s were like that, but definitelly 73/74 are ) are two prongs, being one prong the dome light circuit and the other prong all the buzzers function ( seatbelts, lights on and key in ). But 2 or 3 terminals, getting at least one prong more than passenger side, the idea is the same, get separated ground circuits to save from feed waring signals when passenger door is open
So there are two options for buzzers? I notice my harness has that slot for the buzzer but the relay only controls the horn. So I can have the buzzer on the harness or between the ash tray and glove box?
There are TWO diff buzzers, one for the KEY IN warning buzzer which is standard equipment and comes integrated on the horn relay on all 71/73 Mopars AND the other for the LIGHTS ON buzzer which is optional. But both are wired to the drivers door ground switch because both buzzs just when door is open and ign key is IN and/or the lights are ON. But BOTH separatelly to its own function
This is a diagram I made quite ago. The squared plug there to lamps on reminder buzzer is actually the V shaped one on harness. From there, gets the extra harness to reach the buzzer itself like the diagram I posted earlier from the FSM. Is not more than an extension harness
Ok, thats just correct for 74 and laters which got moved the key in buzzer function on a diff circuit controled by the interlock system, not anymore on horn relay. You would need the ones with 4 prongs as I shown to get the key in buzzer back, which is correct for 71/73.
Ya. I'd need to redo everything anyways so I bought a new kit. The only harness that was half decent was the dash harness. The engine harness plug was toast also.
Id need both sides of the bulkhead. I wanted the newer fuse style. Plus this helps me undersrsnd the entire wiring for my next car lol. Plus it's fun learning. But yea your right it would be alot easier
