Ok so how does the 6 clips go in for the trim piece? Do I cut the headliner were they go or just push them in? Will they be some what loose or tight? Thanks for any help,this weekend project.
Wayne so I do the hole first?Push'm in the hole and GENTLEY squeeze the tabs to spread the rear wings. Use a soldering iron to start the hole...

That’s a great ideaThose clips look like the ones on my 65 Belvedere. I modified the clips and installed nut serts and 10-32 screws to retain them.

I do the exact same thing.I wish I never would have taken those stupid brackets off...no matter what I tried I couldn't get them to relock back in with any confidence. Didn't want to chance them falling out later, once the windshield is in, you're blocked out.
I ended up running a screw in to hold them good.
