The CWC casting indicates it was cast in Muskegon, MI by the Campbell Wyatt Cannon foundry. The rest?

Is that number 406150? Bit hard to see.
CWC is indeed the manufacturer of the cast, they do not grind cams but just make the bare component.
I have a Hughes engines cam and also has the CWC logo.
For what engine this cam supposed to be?

I'm all ears, but it seems to me no one ever gets a cam identified this way. Seems like a guy could set up a nice cottage industry by throwing cams in an empty block and measuring them for guys to identify the billions of unknown cams out there. The OP should also be aware that if he doesn't really know its true origin or history, it could be a reground cam, and there isnt a number on it that means a thing in that case. BTW, I've read that the paint splotches (red in this case) on the end are as meaningful as anything else on a Purpleshaft, but only the Wizard of Oz has the codes. HTH, Lefty71

The cast numbers will not give much details indeed.
Most of the time i guess the proper specs can be identified by the numbers on the end where the sprocket sits.
At least, on my Hughes Engines cam that is where i found the details.

Yea my Isky I was running in my old engine had the model number etched in the end of the lobe where the timing gear went or on the back lobe face.....I can't recall which end but it was definitely on there.

verify the number
run it through a cam doc
measure base circle and lift
you might have a good cam- or not
or a regrindable core but check the gear carefully
