Hydroboost setups...who’s running what?

So I’m looking at getting one for my car. Not sure what to go with, RMS sells a kit with the wilwood master buts that’s like 1400! Hydroboost Company is around 1000 and then you can get em off gym Astro vans and such..

I'd like to see someone do a low dollar jobby instead of paying the stupid price they are asking. It's something I've been considering doing as well so I'm curious to see what you come up with.

Got mine from talon hydraulics. If I remember it was around 700 with willwood master. Also has reservoir clocked 90 degrees for better valve cover clearance.

700 with all hoses, that’s not bad.

Colleague at work used a gmc truck unit on his 71 bronco. Took some fab work, but claims it was less than $300 and works great.

I have a lumpy cam and not much vacuum at idle so went with the hydroboost and Wilwood discs up front and a Wilwood master cylinder. The hydroboost makes the brakes super powerful but the pedal is harder to modulate than a typical vacuum booster set up. Also, more pedal pressure is required than with a vacuum booster, but requires less effort than my previous manual brakes.

They set up my hydroboost, master cylinder, proportioning valve and shipped it as a package all bolted together. The Hydratech guys know Mopars and ask the right questions. I paid about $1300 for the hyrdoboost, billet mounting plate, braided lines, Wilwood master cylinder and proportioning valve. The master cylinder and proportioning valve accounted for about $400 of the total.

I had a single master with manual drum brakes. Never felt safe driving the car hard. Now I have confidence the car will stop quickly when needed.

I was looking at hydraboost. It’s down to rms or hydraboost...

I bought the Tallon booster and love it. Looks about the same as the Hydratech but less expensive. The kit I bought was complete with everything needed and plenty of hose in case you goofed making it the first time.

Talked to their customer service a couple times to make sure I had all the right components and they were very helpful. I matched it with the 1 1/8” Wilwood MC and it’s perfect.
