So theres a big cruise week going on in my neck of the woods (back to the bricks in and around Flint, MI) and some mouthy chevy driver with a big tunnel ram sticking out of the hood of his chevelle kept egging me on cruising through town. just as we got out of the downtown area, we went from a 20 ish mph roll, he made sure to hit it first and I didn't mind. by the time I wrapped up second gear (the one I started in) i was out probably 2 car lengths on him. next stoplight he wouldnt even idle up next to me! what a bitch! I was gonna tell him I liked the color of his car! lol

It’s the duramax guys around where I live. Then they have to follow me to wherever I’m going (usually the parts store to pick up supplies) and come up with an excuse as why they couldn’t keep up. Pretty sad when you get beat with a car running polyglas tires.

Something similar Happened to me and my dad leaving a cruise one night, Chevelle with 396 badges. He dumped the clutch leaving the show resulting in a chirp of the tires, I pulled out next got up on the stall about 3k rpm and left a cloud. Next light I gave him the hit, loaded up on the converter and let off and passed him like he was standing still.

I don't personally have anything against duramax, all the big 3 are making some, in my opinion, spectacular diesel trucks. But yes, most of the people (kids) that are just driving them because they are apparently cool and don't really need a big truck drives me nuts. Loud *** exhaust that sounds like a broke down semi and blowing black smoke just to try to show off. I could really use a heavier duty truck yet the price of them makes any of the 3 close to unattainable for me. At least the local high schools parking lot has lots of them parked everyday. Spoiled brats...
