low hum what seems to be near water pump.225 cid.

hi Bear R.- here,i have a low hum in idle .what seems to be near the water pump/harmonic balancer area.any ideas?..just in idle when you give it just a bit of gas its gone. is this somthing major?thanks everyoone and God Bless.Barry

could be pump,bearings in alt...disconnect the belt and see if it goes away...
