Looks great. A piece of bling that most people won't ever notice but a vital part nonetheless.

Getting back to business and getting more things on the engine.
First is the new flywheel.

Next is to put in the break-in oil and prime it.

Next is to get the new McLeod clutch out and ready for install.

And here it is installed.

Next comes the bling bling Doug's headers.
First put on the Rem Flex header gaskets.

And now the headers.

Stupid me didn't realize that the passenger side header would not go on with the oil filter installed, so it had to come off & this AFTER I primed the oil and filled the oil filter....

Oh well, it wasn't too bad of a mess to clean up.
Next step will be to do a fit-check of the bell housing, but I need to order the correct clutch fork pivot bracket for small block B-body applications along with a clutch fork boot from Brewers.

After getting all of the required fasteners for the bellhousing I was able to finally install it for good.

I had to install studs to where the 4 speed is mounted to the bellhousing as the threads were buggered up in the aluminum bellhousing, so I had to wait for fully threaded bolts to come from McMaster Carr.

and to finish off the install, make sure the starter is in.

So tonight with the help of my assistant (Many Thanks Hugh) One big hurdle was cleared.
It started off by installing the lifting bar on the front of the car.

Next, getting the hoist in place.

Next step is lifting the body.

Then do a fit-check to see if we have to go any higher.

Then, maneuver the k-member to line up the mounting bolts.

Then came the realization that the back end of the car will have to go up as the header collector was touching the underside of the floor pan.

So now that the body was more level it was time to install the k-member bolts.

And she finally has an engine in it!!!

I'm relieved for now.
I'll be happy come tomorrow.

Home stretch involves getting everything else installed.
First hurdle so far - the torsion bars.

Not alot done after the engine and K-member install.
I did install the torsion bars and today I did install the Z-bar for the clutch.
I bought this kit some time ago.

But then remembered that I had this kit too.

So using the Mopar Performance kit, the Z-bar went in nicely.

For the sharp eyed readers out there - yes the bar is slightly crooked as I have the back of the engine supported by a jack stand which is slightly higher than it should be.
Once the 4 speed is in, the Z-bar should look more even.

Next is to get the front brakes on the car.
First to cleanup and paint the calipers and the hardware.

Next is to cleanup the rotors and get them on the car.

Next is to mount the calipers and pads.

Next the flex lines.
I bought the braided flex line kit from Fine Lines. The rear one is already installed.
Here are the fronts.

Now the really big thing - get the 4 speed gearbox ready to install.
First lets get the shifter box mount put on.

And now the shifter box.

I wasn't sure how the reverse light wiring harness had to be routed so I looked it up in this book.

Sure enough, there it is.....(the one on the left).

Next is to get the gearbox on the jack.....motorcycle jack that is...

And get it under the car.

Next is to get it into position.

I decided at this point to remove the shifter box to give me a little more space.
Now to give it some height.

Get all the fasteners in place and done up & she's in!! Mind you she did fight me the whole way.

So I go to put the shifter box in place and something doesn't look right.

Houston I think we have a problem....DOH!

So it's a good thing I bought one of these things years ago never knowing I would need it.

But first let's get it cleaned up.
After using the fiber wheel on it - that's pretty clean.

Next is to put some primer and paint on it and get it installed.

Got the dog bone bracket painted up and installed along with the shifter box and rods and the crossmember too. Plugged in the speedo cable as well.

Cleaned up the yoke and installed in the tailshaft as then next step is to put fluid in it.

Look at the yellow transmission bracket, see the chipped paint....
Just more work to touch up the chips.

I'm posting some pictures of my z-bar setup now that the 4 speed mount is installed.

The arm that the clutch rod is mounted too appears to be rubbing against the bellhousing.

Is it suppose to be that close?

Looks to be offset about 1/2". Is the spring clip in the bushing groove on the frame side. That would position the bar correctly.
