My Current 67 Satellite Build.

Lots of little things have been going on. The car is blown apart again and on the rotisserie. We have all the under side welding done from the replacement floor pans, and have all the under side brackets welded back in place. On the inside the console brackets have been fitted and welded in, as well as the wiring guards on the sills. The inside has been seam sealed and the sound deadening applied to the doors, and quarters. The main fuel line and brake line have been installed so that the undercoating can be finished. On another note the front suspension is built and sitting ready to go on the dolly. I install all my engines, transmissions, and suspensions from the bottom of the car.

Today I got all the paint mixed, and started applying sealer to get ready for trim out.

A few other things done. Front brakes, spindles and backing plates completed. New shoes, wheel cylinders, and springs.

The heater box has been rebuilt, with new heater core and Detroit Muscles kit. I had to replace one internal piece due to rust. The old heater core must have been leaking for a while, and also stopped up. It was noticeably heavier than the new one.

Friday, we started trim out. Finally seeing what the color I have meticulously worked on getting right. The pictures I post below, don't show what it truly looks like. Maybe if I had turned on the flash it would have looked better. I will post some more later in better light.

The closest I can come to the original carpet color in ACC carpet is brown 80/20 loop pile. I found the original carpet tag in the car and cut it out and saved.

So I guess Chesnut = Brown.

A lot has been going on, so one thing at a time. Trim out has started, so a few better pictures of the color.

All the sheet metal will now be hung, and aligned again. Then a final blocking and color.

I have torn down the dash and also pulled the dash from a parts car. The harnesses are all good and most have been re-wrapped.

I got the new front retainer for the transmission and the engine is ready to be put on a engine stand for disassembly and a rebuild. I don't know how much will be needed, but either way it will go back stock with the only modification being a cam upgrade.

So not too be stupid what motor is that Jerry? Think it is a 383 but could be wrong. See it is a four speed car. Grate.

The odometer shows 91K miles and appears to have never been into. The carburetor is numbers correct and going for a rebuild.

One thing I remember about mid-60s Mopars was the amazing variety of paint colors offered compared to Ford and GM. Some of the copper and bronze tint colors back then really stood out even in factory paint of the day. This one should be really pretty.
