My Current 67 Satellite Build.

Know it is not funny but spent hours of surfing on the net. to find part's when rebuilding my runner. Have two folder's that a stapled on the end's that are full of receipts. Never took time to add them up but just figured the car is done and have a good estimate. Of what I spent in the build. 40 grand on the downside. After buying the car. That is doing all the work myself. But won't go into how much I spent in welder's and supplies. It went on and on. LOL.

I feel your pain. It was the same for me with my 70 Road Runner!

As things are a little slow on the build, I thought you might like to see a few pictures of the beginning of this project.

This is going to be such a cool car. A unique and seldom seen (today, that is) color combination that will be sure to draw a crowd. I really think this is going to pop!

Well done sir!
I hope so, that's why I decided to go back as built. My first new car was a 67 Satellite, equipped just like this one other than the color combination.

I haven't seen many cars in this color, but if anyone has one that needs paint here is the PPG formula.

Are you using BC/CC or single stage Concept?

Getting things together, so after the car is painted, all I have to do is reach for restored parts, new parts, etc. Assembly will be much faster if everything is ready to go back on. I spent the day cleaning and polishing interior chrome. This is not the original pieces as they had considerable rust. These are from my 30 plus years of collecting 67 B body parts.

One step forward and 2 steps back. While tweaking the right front fender for better body alignment, I found some filler in it that I wasn't satisfied with. The fender was acquired as what I thought was bolt on scuff and paint. Well the stories you hear and are told. While pulling it in to get the gaps right, I heard something and with futher inspection found filler to be cracking in another place. Thank God for the parts cars and parts that I have acquired, so yesterday another fender goes to the shop. It will be worked and fitted, and hopefully bondo free. This will hold up paint another week. I didn't take time to get pictures of this as I was to pissed, basically at myself for not being more alert in the first place.

The problem is in the lower front and occurred while seeing how that was going to look, once rolled in for the fender brace.

A few other things are going on. The dash is ready to start reassembly. The dash harness is rewraped, the radio is tested, I have a new speaker, glovebox, rebuilt flasher switch (thanks @devinism), and other assorted goodies. I have a nice original dash pad that I will dye the correct color.

Being the paint is held up while working the replacement fender, I decided to paint a few things off the car.

The taillight housing are also being painted off the car. I have three parts cars that have never been painted. Two of them look like they were painted off the car and one was painted on the car. So I'm going the 2 out of 3 way. Not that anyone will ever know, but it's definitely the way to go using base coat, clear coat.

The new carpet is relaxing out of the box and the seats are done, I just have to pick them up this weekend.

Glad you are on board with my build Ed @moparedtn , thanks for the likes.
Brother, if I had seen it originally....well, it's very easy to totally miss stuff on this forum.
Least it is for me.
Not missing it from here on in though, by George!
