what rod choices there for the 4.25 stroke?
go long
you do not need as much overlap
or
you do not have to have as much overlap
but intake close and exhaust open are more critical as the engine goes throug the BDC area quicker with the long rod
which you can fix
with the short rod eents happen real fast around tdc
with chevies you often have to start opening the intake early just to get it open to follow piston demand max piston speed comes early
and yes 4 degrees matter
