New Garage

I ordered the roofing metal on Monday and picked it up on Friday...

I need to get some of the metal ceiling up so that I can cut and relocate the garage door track bracing...

Then I can finish the insulation around the bracing

Installed one row of lights so it's not as dark to work in...

There will be 3 more rows...

Roofing metal is 17' 3 1/2" long and is being installed upside down...

More insulation installed...

Some wiring installed for a wall mounted light/clock...

Blocking installed between studs...

R-max finished above garage door...

It's just a slow process when installing blocking...electrical and insulation all at the same time to make sure nothing gets missed...

Got a lot of the insulation in the walls completed...

All of the insulation on the sloped ceilings is complete and all of the metal panels are installed...

Finished up the last of the 16 lights tonight...

I'm thinking I may be using the lower or the higher lights instead of all of them at once...

I'm not going to complain about maybe too much light...

I had some of the vertical board and batten siding left over from when the front of the garage was built...

Those short pieces were perfect to put in the area above the garage doors...

One and done as this is a finished product with no additional work needed...

I started installing the rough cut lumber on the side of the flat bottom truss's...

There will be a drop bulkhead that creates a shelf in front of the rough cut wood...

I picked up more rough cut and finished the RH side of the truss's...

Went today and picked up 5/8" drywall and installed it on the bottom of the bulkhead...

I need a few finished 3/4" trim boards to finish the shelf and the face...

Did all I could do with what I had so I built the scaffold up on the other side and started framing the LH drop bulkhead-shelf...

14 hrs. today between chasing material and clean-up...

I had the new LG Minisplit units delivered yesterday...

Need to coordinate installation of line sets and wiring prior to closing in the balance of the insulation in the walls...

Continued framing the LH side bulkhead-shelf...

Installed almost all of the rough lumber...

Installed the balance of the electric boxes and wiring for the lights...

Hung the 5/8" drywall on the bottom of the bulkhead...

I like the wood accent. Very nice. Our garage was "supposed" to have been plumbed for gas, water, bathroom. We had to delete those as the contractor we started with was running through our funds like a fire sale. At least it doesn't get cold out here like you get to deal with.

No gas on my road at all or I would have had that brought in...

My hose bib on the house is 25 or so feet away so I didn't see a lot of sense in putting water in...

My contractor is milking me pretty good too right now...

I got the wood trim and the shelves finished...but didn't take any pictures...

Moved the scaffolds to the other side so I can start on the insulation over there...

There's going to be a lot of stuff to move out of the way...

I did get the facade finished over the weekend...

I got a pretty cool 7' by 7'6" wall graphic to install once I have conditioned space...

I got pictures of the wood trim for the shelving at the top and liquidated a few boxes of trophy's from the basement...

Began installing the R-38 insulation in the ceiling of the other side of the garage...

In the one picture of the side of the truss you can see how high the insulation goes as it is 1' past the bottom cord of the truss on the vertical part...

Began cleaning up the edges of the slab and installing 2" rigid insulation against the concrete block....

This will go in 4" high and be covered by custom bent steel base...
